Depeche Mode was one of my first concerts! Detroit in the early 90s. One of my besties and I were pumped to see them together again in 2017, and it was great nostalgia-wise, but not the same. I, too, don't go to many concerts these days. I have to REALLY love the act. Alanis Morissette a few years ago filled my soul :-)
Had tickets to Depeche Mode Park City, UT 1985 but got GROUNDED the week before and forbidden to go. Biggest example of injustice the world has ever known! Didn't get to see them until 2023 and still had a blast. Although I am glad to hear you say you stopped liking live music. I'm the only other person I know who's not cool like that anymore and prefers to avoid the loud crowd. Not saying you aren't cool.... totally tubular is more like it!
Oh nooooo! Grounded!?! Glad the same thing didn't happen in 2023 😜 I do miss seeing live music and will still go to some shows, but I'm being super selective about it at this point as I learn to protect my peace. So glad to have you here! xx
It was U2 all the way for me. Unforgettable Fire, general admission, SF Civic Center, and the boy I had a mad crush on was two seats away, not that anyone sat in their seats, we were on our feet the whole time. Wasn’t my first concert, but I’ll never forget it. (I did lock eyes with Bryan Adams one time, though, and reached on stage to strum the guitar at an INXS show.)
I love this so much! So that would have been, what? 1985? And INXS? I die.
My second concert was U2 Joshua Tree in 1987 (so much respect to my brother for introducing me to them, XTC, Toy Dolls, REM, Icicle Works, Big Country, English Beat, The Police, Rush, Foreigner, Camper van Beethoven, Violent Femmes...ahhhh, the list goes on). But U2 was my obsession after DM, so much that I spent a ton of time in Ireland (including a summer and year abroad). The things we do for the love of music, I tellya!

Depeche Mode's Black Celebration tour was my first concert too!
OK, now this is just getting ridiculous 😉🖤 Where did you see them? (I'm assuming NY!)
Yeah Jones beach theater.

I have a feeling it’s going to be fun!
